First Family Vacation & Sign language

It's going to be a short, yet important blog entry.

We are driving to the beach for our first family vacation. It's bed time for Abi and she's doing soo good in the car.
As we were watching favourite baby's songs on borrowed DVD (thanks J&L), I asked Abi is she wanted milk in polish and in sign language.
Listen to this:
She signed back to me and is now drinking her bottle!!!! Art is driving and couldn't see it, so he asked her again this time in English, and she did it for daddy to see it,
too!
We are so proud of her!

Oh and.....
She said 'mama' today!

It all happened in the car. I'm excited to see what the next days spent with my lovely family will bring!

First ....

Yesterday, for the very first time, Abi took 2 crawling steps and Asia got to see it!!!!

Today when the 3 of us were together Abi did it again!

She's so close to get this figured out and crawl all around ;-)

And this morning she spent about 20 minutes trying to pull herself up to stand up possition in our living room. She was not giving up!!! Even though she was very tired and ready for her nap.

This determination was absolutely amazing!!! If she's going to keep it all her life and combain it with God's love, grace, mercy and wisdom she will be unstoppable !!!

I am so proud of her !!!!!

10 Months

Thank you to all of you who are visiting Abi's blog and who keep on praying for her. We've been quiet for a little while, but it's been a very busy time for us and we need to slow down a bit.

Abi continues doing great. She's growing, learning, changing daily. She's just a little "hip move" away from crawling. She has a really strong voice and started "talking" a lot.

Having her with us is so amazing. Watching her grow and learn, look at everything with this passion in her eyes is one of the most wonderful experiences in life.

Here are some pictures

Abi's off Meds

Last week after Abi's cardiac appointment we took her off her only blood pressure meds she was on and she was on them only as a precaution after second heart surgery.

Today I took Abi to her pediatrician to have her blood pressure checked, 9 days since we stopped the meds and.... It's perfect.

100/60 on her leg when she was moving and 96/64 on her arm. It's really good and she's not coming back on meds. Hopefuly never ;-)

And this is her playing in the waiting room

Abi These Days

Abi is unbelievable; she's growing, maturing, changing all the time and is sweet as only could be. And yes I know every parent says that about their children, but also there are children who's parents admit they are whinny, fussy and difficult.

As for Abi she's none of the above. You don't see her fuss nor hear her whine. She's a very happy and easygoing baby for what we are very thankfull.

Just a couple pictures taken in the morning and afternoon.

Eating breakfast

Shopping for hats

Kneeling while playing ( new thing )

Walking with daddy

9 Month Old Check Up Yesterday And Cardiologist Appointment Today

Yesterday's 9 month old check up went great! Abi did so good I couldn't be more proud of her.

She gained wight very well and is now caught up, weighing 18.9lb puts her in 50% weight, and 28in in 70% length.

Her overall development is just right where 9 month old should be, so it means she had no set backs from the surgeries and, what's the most important, her brain did not suffer any harm after being twice on heart bypass machine. THis is wonderful!

Today's cardiologist visit was even better. Dr. Greene did not stop using words like "fantastic', "wonderful", "phenomenal", "couldn't be better". Her saturation was......100 !!! Her blood pressure 99/61 exactly where needed; echo showed no changes other than tricuspid regurgitation only improved.

From today we stop the last meds and we will get her blood pressure checked in about 10 days; if everything is great then, there will be no need to go back to the meds.

Next appointment in 3 months and then in 6 months and than annualy.

We even talked about plans as far as mid school and high school!!!! How cool is that?! ?! ?! Last year around this time we were encouraged to seriously consider pregnancy termination! It just makes us want to go back to see this particular doctor and visit him with Abi ! ! ! ;-)
