Sunday Fun
Just coupe pictures from some of today's activities.
Great time at church in the morning, Birkdale Village and Hope Park in the late afternoon.
Abi was absolutely mesmerized by the water fountains ;-)

Morning At The Park
I love spring in North Carolina. Today was another gorgeous day and since I wasn't working until noon I had my friend, Bryan over for coffee at 8 in the morning and then we took Abi and headed to one of the parks that are near us. We went to Jetton Park on the Lake Norman and I gotta admit Abi did not really want to play at the playground today, but wanted to walk.
So off for a walk we went. She was excited about all the birds singing, every dog that passed by, every squirrel she got to see and throwing pine cones into the lake.
We sat on a bench on the shore and she was just enjoying the view, the Canadian Geese and the planes over our heads.
I just wish mommy could be there with us and it would have been a perfect morning.

Family Sunday
It was another gorgeous day in NC. Very sunny, not too hot, just in low 70s; just another perfect day to take my girls out for some ice-cream and to the play ground.

Just Thinking
We keep in touch with other 'heart' families, follow them on their blogs, Facebook pages, groups, follow the Yahoo L-TGA group and I just can't stop thinking and being thankful for how truly blessed J, Abi and I have been in all of this.
There are so many children with much less complex hearts comparing to Abi's and for some, difficult to understand reason they spend months and months in hospitals. Their recovery is long and difficult and Abi wasn't in a hospital for 2 weeks at a time. More, after second open heart surgery she was out within 3 days.
She's growing, running, talking, playing all the time; constantly learning new things and so far there hasn't been anything that would slow her down or she couldn't keep up with.
I just thought I would share once again how truly blessed we are, since we tend to forget the blessings pretty easily.

Failed Test
Abi has one of those convertible cribs that transform through a toddler's bed to a full bed. Just for kicks we decided to take the one side off of the bed and see how Abi would handle the new setup.
Unfortunately Abi's bed has the top, decorative board that is permanently attached to the bed which contributed to the test failure.
Why do we think both, Abi and the bed failed the test? See yourself below ;-) No bed change until she's 2nd

Here are some facts about our sweet baby girl:
Abi was born on July 24th, 2009 with several heart defects that were detected prenatally at 18 weeks: Congenitally Corrected Transposition of the Great Arteries (Congenitally Corrected Transposition of the Great Vessels) (CCTGA = LTGA = L-TGA), Ebstein's Malformation (Ebstein's Anomaly) (malformed tricuspid valve), Pulmonary Stenosis and VSD.
Her first surgery - PA band - was scheduled for December 8th, 2009, however unexpectedly was changed to an Open Heart Surgery (OHS) called Double Switch performed on December 9th, 2009, originally planned for much later...
